So last night was the second time I was an audience member of Australian Idol- the second Eviction show of the year. And sadly, it was Brooke's time to leave. I must admit I was taken aback by the decision- of all the bottom three, Brooke was definately the most memorable and talented singer. But I think my mum put it correctly when she explained that this years top 12 are "a pretty boring bunch,".
I completely agree with her. I mean, we have the token teen heartthrob (Tom) taking Matt Corby's place from last year, the token great Aussie battler (Luke) who can definately be compared to Shannon Noll, and (other than Chrislyn and Madame) all of the others are just a big blur of nameless faces to me! I'd be interested to see what everybody else thinks.
Anyway, last nights performance was most exciting for me for one reason- Cyndi Lauper was supposed to perform her famous single (and one of my most favourite songs) Time After Time. It's here where I warn you- be prepared to be shocked!
Cyndi's performance was NOT LIVE. It was performed the previous night, after the Sunday Night Performance Show. So, while it looks like she performed on the Monday (even the hosts and judges had their Monday Night outfits on) it was all pre-recorded. RIPPED OFF!
I guess that's T.V for you...

Bitchiets and the Fattest? I Don't Think So!
I am a massive Australia's Next Top Model fan. I know- that is possibly a sad thing for me to admit, but it's true. My Uni pals and I particularly got into this years round- the one which saw Demelza Reveley take out the title of our newest top model.
The show tended to paint Demelza in a negative light- in one episode Alex (a fellow contestant) infamously described Demelza as "the bitchiest and the fattest" of all of the girls. (Clearly what goes around comes around.)
I was lucky enough to run into Demelza in the city just the other day. My friend Tristan and I were casually walking to our busstop when a pretty, tall girl caught our eye. It didn't take long for us to recognise her (I swear my eyes were the widest they could go!) and I proceeded to loudly whisper 'That's Demelza' to my friend, and point like mad. I honestly need to learn to keep my cool.
Tristan took charge of the situation and walked right up to Demelza, like she was an old friend, and began with "Hey Demelza! How are you? You were our favourite!". What could have turned disastrous was in fact an awesome 10 minute conversation with the model.
She was absolutely lovely- asking us questions about where we were from and what we did (as if she really cared! haha) and laughing along with us as we claimed that we felt like massive stalkers. She even happily posed for a couple of pictures, and told us she was glad to have met such nice people.
So, to Alex and anyone else out there who are still to believe Demelza is a bitch, I can honestly say that she is possibly the nicest celebrity I have ever met- and given the situation she had every right to be rude. That, and she is absolutely stunning, tall and super skinny- I was a midget compared to her.
Demelza- keep it up hunni! You're beautiful =]
Myself, Demelza and Tristan.

"Best Idol Performance Night Ever"
If Marcia Hines says it, then it must be true. I was lucky enough to be among the audience of the first ever Idol Performance Night of 2008, and let me tell you, if you didn't watch it, you missed out big time.
To be completely honest with you, I didn't really get into the audition rounds this year. In fact, I was kind of over the whole Idol thing- but when dad let me knnow he had 4 tickets for me, my boyfriend, my brother and his friend to attend, I didn't pass up the offer. I wanted to suss out this year's supposed 'talent'...and lucky I did.
So we got to Fox Studios and stood in the VIP ticket line for about half an hour... it was pretty busy, you could really tell how excited evryone was. Then we were lead up to the studio- but rather than wait in line like everyone else, the four of us (and four others) were taken by my dad to pick the first lot of seats we wanted to sit in- wherever we wanted =] naturally we chose the front row!
It wasn't long before the crowd warmer-up guy Dave came out to..well..warm us up. He was hilarious! One embarrassing moment involves my brother up on the stage dancing for the audience...but let's never speak of this again. When the judges came out Marcia came over and gave me a hug and kiss. I could hear the girls behind me; "Why does she get a kiss? What the hell?". Haha
During the add breaks I was called over to the judges desk to get lollies and chocolates from Marcia to take back to the four of us- wow, we got the full on celebrity treatment! haha
But the funniest moment of the night was when Andrew (G) came over and gave Trent (my boyfriend) the 'talk'. Something along the lines of "I've known thisgirl for 6 years now, and you should be able to speak about how much she means to you in public...blablahblah" God it was funny- Trent was clueless, he had no idea what was going on, and I was just laughing like a nutcase, not really making things any better :P What a good girlfriend I am. So now the poor boy has gotten words from Andrew G and Marcia... who next?
All in all the show was amazing! I must admit I picked the bottom three, their performances just weren't as memorable as the others. I'm looking foward to this week- personally, I'm rooting for Madame so far. But that could all change...
